When photographing, I "see" history and find it impossible not to re-see images that I've admired or previously made.

These photographs are "echos" of the work of photographer Aaron Siskind. Siskind was hired by my mentor Crombie Taylor in 1951 to join the faculty of the Institute of Design on the recommedation of photographer / teacher Harry Callahan. Crombie was the Director of the Institute of Design 1951 - 1955.
