Six Photographs of the Town of Breckenridge

(which I have never visited)

I bought an early Kodak (digital) camera from a thrift store that still retained the memory card. The previous owner of the camera was unknown. When I downloaded the files, the subjects were winter ice sculptures and a quick search revealed that they were shot in 1999, in Breckenridge, Colorado, a town which I have never visited.

I converted the color images into black and white as they reminded me of the radical monochromatic tonalities that Ansel used when he photographed white picket fences. The picket fence is used here as a recurring theme in these photographs (although I suspect, unconsciously).
